I Didn’t Win A Treo 650 From The Trip Boss Birthday Contest

The bad news, is that I didn’t win the contest. That means, I didn’t win the Treo 650, which was going to be my choice for the prize. Oh well. Congrats to the winner, Randy Jones who won and chose himself a Dell Axim x51v. You can check out his entry here. The good news is, I was fortunate enough, thanks to the powers that be, to be given a “special” runner-up prize of a choice of 3 Creative Algorithms’ software titles. I chose, Trip Boss, DateWheel and ServingSizer (so expect at least a posting on Trip Boss program sometime in the future). Thanks to Creative Algorthims, PDA247 and PalmAddicts for sponsoring this awesome contest. Too bad I didn’t win, but, maybe next time! BTW, my contest entry is located here for those who are interested in reading it.
I guess my fault was that it was probably way too lengthy (but it’s very hard for me to not write and include everything) and didn’t really emphasize Trip Boss, the major sponsor of the contest. Hopefully my Trip Boss entry has enough tips and tricks to help you on your next trip. I feel much better with that in mind.
Well, now that I have my own copy of Trip Boss, I’ll be better prepared, if there’s a similar contest next time…
Regardless, it was a lot of fun writing up my contest entry, doing all the things, inserting links, images, etc. I did enjoy it, and that’s why I write this blog, because I enjoy writing. I hope you will enjoy the entry and hopefully find some tricks you can use. That’s always been my objective, to help someone and share my knowledge.
Thanks again to Creative Algorithms, PDA247, and Palm Addicts for the contest. Apparently, it was such a difficult decision to claim the winner. I hope that nobody lost any sleep over it.
Well, I don’t count.
Now that I still don’t have a Treo 650, does anyone have any suggestions where I can get a relatively cheap unlocked GSM Treo 650? I don’t want to be tied to a contract. I’m planning on travelling to Hong Kong and possibly stopping by Tokyo so if anyone has any suggestions on where I can get an unlocked GSM Treo 650 for a decent price, please let me know either via email or in the comments section below. Thanks in advance!
(EDIT. May 21st, 2006). I have since purchased an unlocked GSM Treo 650 in Hong Kong and a very happy and proud owner. I have started to somewhat shift my focus on the Treo with reviews that are relevant to Treos. Don’t worry, I still have my Zire 71 and will make every effort to not alienate anybody. I am still doing the majority of the simulations on the Zire 71 since it is much easier to load up on the computer.

Thanks for the comment and the compliment. I am currently doing various postings on essential apps as well as dabbing in other postings (I have a tendency to do a bit of this, and a bit of that). I guess, it’s one way I don’t get bored or spend too much time on one thing and slowly work towards completing a posting. And doing things this way seems to work for me, as it keeps the brain thinking, brainstorming, etc. Thanks for reading and leaving a comment.

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately, it’s in Vancouver and I’m not planning on going down to Vancouver for a while. I’d rather deal either with someone directly in person, or deal with an online dealer hopefully with a good reputation. Maybe the link will help someone in Vancouver.
Next time I check out Vancouver, I’ll have to ask the cell phone dealers around and see if I can get a good deal. Or, wait until I’m in HK or Tokyo (still haven’t bought the tix so it’s not firm yet).

I think I should add a final comment regarding the Treo 650. I have finally bought an unlocked GSM Treo 650 in Hong Kong during my trip to HK and Tokyo (they were both awesome). So I’m very happy and satisfied with my purchase. The Treo was more than I imagined and I certainly can’t go back to a standalone PDA anymore.
I have provided the first posting of my thought on the Treo 650 here as well as video posting review and Flash simulations. Check out the archive listing for the links to the postings.
