The latest issue of the free Audible periodical This is Audible with Josephine Reed on XM Satellite radio is now available for download. For more info on Audible and the bi-weekly radio show This is Audible, please check out my previous posting on Audible as well as older postings with the audible tag.
This Oct 20th issue features:
In this edition:
Today, it’s three kings and a queen. We begin with a sneak preview of a new book from the King of Horror: Stephen King’s new novel Lisey’s Story. The book debuts on October 24, but the first chapter is available now at audible.com. We take a sneak peek.
Then, a new, intimate look at the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley, written by a childhood friend. We hear from Jerry Schilling, author of Me and a Guy Named Elvis.
After that, the French queen Marie Antoinette is the subject of new novel called Abundance: A Novel of Marie Antoinette and Josephine talks to author, Sena Jeter Naslund.
And King Dork by Frank Portman is a about typical American high school loser with zero athletic skills and a nonexistent social life; a terrific book for young adults.
(Broadcast Date: October 20, 2006)
There’s also Harry Shearer’s Le Show (another free file) that discusses the politics and news of the past week. I don’t particularly care about his skits but do enjoy his perspective on politics and makes for interesting listening.
