Maggie Linton and Tess Gerritsen discuss her latest book, The Mephisto Club.

And we hear one of the most popular children’s stories ever.

But we begin by celebrating the birthday of Michael Crichton: author, film director and producer and television producer most famously of ER. Father of the techno-thriller, he’s known for work involving scientific and technological themes like Jurassic Park, which is Crichton’s story of experimental science gone terribly wrong. Michael Crichton’s latest work is State of Fear, a great blend of edge of your seat, suspense and thought provoking commentary on how information is manipulated in the modern world.

There’s also Harry Shearer’s Le Show (another free file) that discusses the politics and news of the past week. I don’t particularly care about his skits but do enjoy his perspective on politics and makes for interesting listening.
