Changes to posting frequency

First of all, before I continue with today’s posting, I would like to thank everyone for their continued support of Palm Discovery. You guys and gals are great and really help make it all worthwhile! It’s a lot of fun to do all these product reviews and write for the site but they do take up a lot of my time. And with my son needing more of my time, I will likely need to make some adjustments.

I will have to stop my previous committment of posting a product or software review every Monday and will now post them when I have it ready. So that can mean every two weeks or whenever. I will still be posting them but obviously the posting frequency will decrease somewhat. This will give me some breathing room and get me out of the “work” mode and hopefully back into the “hobby” mode. Don’t fret. I will still be posting reviews and other material but they won’t adhere to the old every Monday schedule but will come out when I have them ready.

As well, I will get back into posting more helpful ideas and materials, which was why I started this site in the first place. So, the posts may not be as frequent as they were but I will still be posting, albeit at a slower pace. My objective is to keep this running for a long time. Sorry for any inconvenience. And thanks for your continued support!

Today’s Explorer Profile comes from another Chris M (there seems to be a few of them so I decided to add his forum id to distinguish him from the other Chris M). I hope you enjoy this profile.

Your name: Chris

Your alias on Palm forums: cHex

Your device(s): PalmPilot Pro with SuperPilot Lite (1997) -> Handera 330 (2001) -> Palm TX (2006)

Your favo(u)rite Palm app(s): Bible+, Secret!, Zlauncher, AckWire, SuLite

What you like/dislike about the Palm: I love having all my contact info, appointments, documents, credit card and login information, and reference material with me at all times. I’m never bored with all the games, music, and books in my Palm.

How the Palm has changed your life (or how it helps you) in any way: I always remember important things. My Palm beeps and reminds me.

What do you mainly use your Palm for: Core PDA functions, especially contact info and appointments. Looking up my login names, passwords, and kids’ social security numbers.

etc (anything else you wish to disclose or share like tips, ideas, etc): Create a password-protected file(s) with images of drivers licenses, social security cards, credit cards, passports, etc. for each member of your family. I’m surprised at how often I need one of those images to fill out a form, confirm my identity (e.g. PayPal wants you to verify by e-mailing scanned image), or get some information I would not have thought to put in a text file (e.g. phone number to report lost credit card, place of issue of passport).

Thanks very much for sharing this with us, Chris M (cHex), especially the tip on storing the images on the Palm.
