Sorry for disabling the mobile plugin

Thanks for visiting Palm Discovery

Sorry, everyone, especially those who visit my site with mobile phones and Treos or other similar devices. The mobile plugin is great but I decided to disable it so that I can still log in to the blog from my Treo anywhere and post since most other ways (Palm blog apps, flickr, email, etc) don’t seem to work for me (probably due to the klunky way that Netfirms has it set up). So, since I do want to update the blog when I’m not at a computer (which can happen often enough), I will have to disable the plugin.

(Edited Nov 7, 2007): Thanks to Matthew Ingram of the Globeandmail, he has informed me that Alex King’s mobile plugin DOES offer the ability to view a web page in full, rather than being stuck with the stripped down mobile version. That allows me to still log into the blog and do whatever I need to do, like post and yet allow others who view my site to view in the stripped down mobile version. So, I get the best of both worlds! Thanks, Matthew!

You can still use other ways to get the mobile friendly edition via winksite, Google, or Skweezer. I’d suggest bookmarking those links if you find that they work fine and visiting the site via those ways instead since it will now default back to a regular website.

Sorry again but hopefully the thought that I can blog (and possibly update more frequently) may make things better?

BTW. This posting was originally written and published via my Treo. So, hopefully you can understand my reasoning.

And also, I have finally and *very reluctantly* decided to put all comments back to moderation since some spam comments have slipped by Akismet and got posted. Thankfully, I do get notified when comments are posted so I was able to remove them quickly. I really *DISLIKE* having to do that but it seems that spammers (boy do I hate them) are making my life miserable either via emails to my email for this blog or leaving comments or whatever. The worst ones are the human spam which bypasses the spam filtering which requires reading who I am and sends me the spam. Unfortunately, moderating the comments is still somewhat better than disabling comments altogether (I hope I don’t have to resort to that). This is one of those times when I’m very happy that my blog isn’t popular or I’d be much more distressed or going insane.
