Palm Discovery would like to extend a BIG THANKS to Thomas of USB Fever for providing the product for this review.
In these days of wireless internet, most of us are likely to have those old Cat5e or Cat6 ethernet cables lying around doing nothing, since a lot of us may have upgraded our home networks to wireless. Rather than leaving them around collecting dust, why not put them to good use?
With USB Fever’s USB 2.0 Extension Cable to Cat5e or Cat6 Extender Adapter you can not only dust off those old Cat5e cables and put them to good use, you can also extend the length of your USB cable! You see, these are extender adapters will not only enable you to use your old Cat5e or Cat6 LAN cables as a USB cable but also double as an extension USB cable! So, rather than having your webcam about only a foot away, you can now use these adapters with your LAN cable and extend your reach to the length of your LAN cable. Keep in mind that the longer the cable, the longer the data has to go so, opt for a LAN cable that isn’t too long.
To connect these adapter to your LAN cable is simple. Connect both ends of your LAN cable to each of the adapters. You should easily be able to figure out which adapter connects to the USB port of your computer (male end) and which adapter will accept and connect to your actual USB device (female end). Once everything is connected, it should work. There are no drivers needed. Simply plug and play. It’s that simple.

Here are my observations:
This USB 2.0 Extension Cable to Cat5e or Cat6 Extender works as described. I really like how it just works. There’s nothing complicated involved in terms of installing drivers, or anything. Simply plug in your Cat5e or LAN ethernet cable to each of the adapters and plug them into the respective devices and ports and it should work. I really like that.
I really can’t find any fault with this set of Cat5e or Cat6 extender adapters. They are a great way to extend the length of your USB devices like your webcam, scanner, printer, etc. Rather than paying a heck of a lot of money (not to mention waste time searching) for USB extension cables, simply get these extender adapter and put your old LAN ethernet cables back to good use. Can’t beat that.
USB Fever’s USB 2.0 Extension Cable to Cat5e or Cat6 Extender Adapter is an excellent way to recycle or re-use your old Cat5e or LAN ethernet cables that you may still have around somewhere collecting dust. Not only are you putting something back to good use, but you are also now able to extend the length of the connection of your USB peripherals, rather than being stuck to having them about a foot away or so. It’s very simple to use. Simply connect your LAN cable to each of the adapters, connect the other end of the adapters to the computer’s USB port or hub and to your USB device and it’s done! No drivers or installation needed. Isn’t technology wonderful? I wished everything were this simple.
