Palm Discovery would like to extend a BIG THANKS to Ka Wang Yee for providing the product for this review.
If you’re one of those people who really love the looks of the Treo and don’t want a case that will cover it up but still want some protection from scratches and slight drops and bumps, here’s something you may be interested in looking into, JAVOEdge’s JAVOClear case.
I am reviewing the JAVOClear case that will fit the Treo 750 as well as the 680, 755p and of course, the Treo 750v. JAVOClear case is available for a variety of mobile devices not necessarily smartphone. Check out the available models for the JAVOClear case here.

The JAVOClear case, like many other crystal clear cases is made of polycarbonate plastic that is lightweight and strong. Since it’s transparent, you will still be able to admire the beauty of your Treo but add an extra layer of protection as the JAVOClear case does a pretty good job of providing hard case protection.
The case is made up of two interconnected parts at the front and back that clip and connect to each other via a pair of side clips that snap on and keeps the case intact. The clips at the front part cover up and snap directly onto the clips at the back part. Once you understand how it snaps together, removing the case will be easy.
Case removal instructions
To remove the Treo from the case, simply flip the case over to the Treo’s left side and dig your finger nail into the specially created thumbnail slit or wedge. You will notice that the top part of the case will start to come apart. Next, find the hinge or snapping clip at the bottom of the case on the same side and dig your fingernail into the clip to separate the two pieces and you will snap that part open. Do the same for the other side until you unsnap and separate all four clips.
Don’t worry if you got lost in the instructions. I have demonstrated how it’s done in the video review.
Here are some information on the JAVOClear case obtained from JAVOEdge’s website:

Here are my observations:
If you have read my previous review of another clear case, you will know that I like these types of cases, first of all because they do a very good job of staying intact and snapped together as well as providing very good protection against slight bumps and scrapes. Keep in mind that although it is categorized as a hard case, unlike many other hard cases, this JAVOClear case does not offer shock absorption via any soft, shock absorbing lining inside. So, although it does protect the Treo when you accidentally drop it, the Treo will feel or absorb the shock, unlike the other hard cases that offer the shock absorption.
The JAVOClear case is well designed especially at the edges of the QWERTY keys so that my thumbs do not feel any obstruction at the outer edges of the keys like the Q and P, where I would normally find that the case is raised up a bit above the keys that somewhat distracts me from typing the way I want. With the JAVOClear case, that wasn’t a problem. Also, on a similar note, because this is a case that wraps around the Treo device and doesn’t have any doors, covers or flaps, this means that I have clear (pardon the pun) access to the Treo without having to waste extra time and effort to open up the cover, flap, etc. There is no obstruction for typing as there’s no side door that gets in the way. And I really like that.
Being a clear case, this also means that the case itself also doesn’t take up much bulk, unlike many other leather or hard cases which will add a lot more bulk not to mention weight to the overall package. Not so with the JAVOClear case.
After saying all that, since the case is firmly snapped and held together via the side hinge clips, some people may find that it may be a bit cumbersome should they need to remove the Treo from the case (ie. change the battery) as they’ll need to go through unsnapping the case via the side hinges.
JAVOEdge’s JAVOClear case is a lightweight, durable, transparent shell case that not only shows off the beauty of your Treo smartphone but also does a decent job of protecting it from slight bumps and scratches. Once snapped into place, the case is tightly held together to protect the delicate Treo smartphone inside from slight bumps and scratches without compromising access to your Treo. If you’re looking for a case that will show off the beauty of the Treo smartphone but still provide decent scratch and bump protection, the choice is clear (pun intended) ;).
