Do you ever have this happen to you? You’re surfing the internet at at a friend’s place, etc and wanted to save a web page or file or whatever you found online but darn! The computer you’re using doesn’t have bluetooth support! Don’t fret! You can now transfer that file via bluetooth to your Treo or smartphone or PDA device, even if that computer doesn’t have built-in bluetooth support with USB Fever’s Bluetooth USB Dongle!
USB Fever’s Bluetooth USB Dongle isn’t like many other bluetooth dongles. This one is so tiny in size that it’s smaller than your thumb! Actually, I’m so amazed that something so small in size can work so well! For those with Windows XP, it’s simply plug and play! Don’t you love technology?

- amazingly tiny size
- no drivers required for WinXP
- plug and play
I Didn’t Like:
- limited features in generic WinXP bluetooth software
- BeauSoleil bluetooth software (I personally dislike)
- so tiny that can easily be lost
Here are my observations: This is an amazingly small, or more like tiny USB bluetooth dongle that fits in your hand and works as advertised. I am blown away by its minature size and now, there’s no excuse for not having bluetooth support for your computer or enabling bluetooth support for any Windows XP or Vista computer. On Windows XP, it’s as simple as plugging it in and have it work without doing anything! Windows XP will detect the bluetooth dongle and search for the drivers, install it automatically and within a minute, you can start using it! I love Windows XP since many USB devices can be automatically installed without needing to load special drivers via CDs, etc. On Windows Vista, you will need to install the drivers (supplied via a mini CD included in the package).
My only complaint is more to do with the bluetooth software, or more specifically, the generic bluetooth software in Windows XP or even with the Bluesoleil software (in the mini CD). With my old Rocketfish bluetooth dongle, I used Widcomm’s bluetooth software and I don’t need to select “Receive File” in the software before the dongle will search for file transfer. This is a very slight personal preference and really has nothing to do with the bluetooth dongle but I wanted to point it out. The bluetooth dongle is amazing and I am very impressed with it.
USB Fever’s Bluetooth USB Dongle is an amazingly tiny bluetooth dongle that is smaller than your thumb that works right out of the box as it’s plug and play for Windows XP computers. Windows XP will automatically load and install the drivers without any interaction from you. Simply plug in the bluetooth dongle and within a minute, it’s ready to be used. I am so blown away by the size and that it works without any hitches that I can’t help but recommend this bluetooth dongle. Carrying this with you everywhere you go to ensure that you will always have bluetooth support on any Windows XP computer and it takes up so little space. The package also comes with a mini CD for Windows Vista drivers so those with Vista can also use this bluetooth dongle. The only problem I can see with regards to this bluetooth dongle is that due to its tiny size that it can be much easier to lose than other bluetooth dongles and that you may forget that it’s even plugged in since it’s so tiny. Hardly much of a problem if you ask me.
