Check out Palm Addicts for great coverage of technology and mobile related news.
The big news with regards to us Canadians north of the border is mobile related from many different sources. First is the possible future scrap of the much hated System Access Fees (SAF) which normally adds an additional $6.95 (or more) plus provincial and federal tax. This fee is a cash grab by the cellular carriers and until recently with a lawsuit and public awareness of this, went unnoticed. I have hated this fee forever and will be so glad when it’s gone. Right now, it doesn’t look like Rogers is giving any indication of scrapping the SAF. Second, Fido has been rebranded into a low-cost budget arm of Rogers Wireless. Third, Bell Mobility “bett(er)s” their services by implementing new plans with rollover minutes and new plans for their Solo Mobile. Fourth, Telus is expected to launch HTC Touch Pro (ooh) Nov 14th. Fifth, Blackberry Pearl Flip 8220 arrives at Rogers. And adding an icing on the cake, YVR which is Vancouver International Airport is now offering free Wi-Fi throughout the terminal! Yay!
As expected, this was quite a start for November! Looks like next week has got some good stuff too! Have a great weekend!
