Dual Charging Possible With Universal AC Travel Charger with USB Port

One of the the problems plaguing travelers, especially those who carry a few electronic devices is that they’re normally forced to lug around a barrage of cables, chargers, accessories in addition to travel adapters for different AC voltages. Back about a decade or so ago (for those who remember fondly back to those earlier days), we were normally stuck to carry these bulky not to mention heavy AC adapters that enabled us to plug in our North American prong devices into the local AC wall socket. But, unfortunately, due to the many different formats and prong shapes, we’re normally forced to bring a whole collection of different adapter heads to make it work. Believe me, I was one of those who brought a bunch of different adapter heads because the main adapter acccepted a certain prong and I had to bring about an extra 2 different prongs to transform my US prong plug to work and plug into the adapter. Needless to say, I was not terribly impressed but stuck with it for years.

Days of these needless adapters are over. Thankfully nowadays, a lot of portable chargers and cable now accept dual voltages so the problem mainly now lies in the prongs. But yet, most adapters only allow or enable one device to be charged. Once you plug in your cable or device, you can’t charge anything else. Here comes USB Fever’s Universal AC Travel Charger with USB Port to save the day!

Not only can you charge one of your devices to the adapter, you can also plug in another device through the USB port. So, you can now charge two devices at the same time!

Unlike other Travel chargers, this Universal AC Travel Charger with USB Port is quite easy to pack and lightweight. Swap in and out the necessary prong attachment for the local wall socket and you can then plug in the AC charging cable for your device (eg. camera, camcorder, computer, etc). The Charger is already pre-configured to accept many different prongs so all that’s required is to swap in the necessary local wall socket prong. It supports dual voltage so even if your portable device’s charging cable and adapter doesn’t support dual voltage, you are still safe. When packing and it’s not in use, you can swap out the attachment prong and fit it in the front as if you’re plugging it in the charger and wrap it around with an elastic band. Now, you won’t have to worry about the prong sticking out and poking through the other items in your luggage. How very nice!

I was able to utilize the charger to use and charge a Euro prong charging cable for a Nokia bluetooth headset I’ve received recently (see the video) so it’s certainly a blessing to have! At first, I was worried but when I realized that I could use this Universal AC Travel Charger, it was like “whew”! (Thanks, USB Fever!)

Here are my observations:

I am very impressed by the ingenious design of this Universal AC Travel Charger with USB Port. First, it’s very lightweight and I really like the easy swapping of the adapter prongs. Second, it will accept a variety of different prongs. Third, it supports dual voltages so I don’t have to worry about that. Fourth, it also comes with a USB Port so that I can charge two different devices at the same time: one via the AC receptor and the other via the USB port.

I fail to find any fault with this accessory. My only question is whether there’s another one with TWO USB ports.

Review Summary

USB Fever’s Universal AC Travel Charger with USB Port is quite a very useful and versatile accessory to have. Rather than carrying a bunch of different and often bulky and heavy travel adapters, this will likely suffice. Due to its ingenious design of accepting a large selection of different prong heads, you simply need to swap in and out the necessary local wall socket prong attachment and you’re done! The charger supports dual voltages so you don’t need to bring along anything else. A huge plus is the addition of a USB port. With the bulk of portable devices that can be charged via a USB cable, this allows simulataneous charging of two different devices rather than one, which most adapters are capable of supporting!
