Wow! This is GREAT NEWS! The iPhone 3GS is available from Telus Mobility NEXT THURSDAY November 5th! Not only that! It also means that the long awaited 3G+ network has also arrived! Do you have any idea what that means? COMPETITION! YES! Those of us who are stuck with Rogers and its smaller counterpart, Fido can now have a choice and get our phones from Telus Mobility (and Bell Mobility coming soon)! Rogers Wireless no longer has a stranglehold on us and we can jump ship to Telus and Bell Mobility (which piggy backs off Telus in the West)! Think of all those great smartphones that we previously only can get at Rogers or Fido now available through Telus! Woohoo! I’m celebrating! This is a HUGE thing for us in Canada and with the expected arrival of new entrants in 2010 (Wind Mobile, Dave Wireless, etc), I am very hopeful that it will mean better choices and selection and better customer service with a lower cost (especially for data). Let’s keep our fingers crossed.

TELUS to launch Canada’s largest 3G+ network on November 5
TELUS offers customers broadest coverage, fastest technology, and exciting new devices
VANCOUVER, Oct. 26 /CNW/ - TELUS today announced that it will launch Canada’s largest 3G+ network* on November 5, 2009.
The new next generation wireless network is the latest enhancement to TELUS’ multi-network mobile strategy, offering customers the technology for increased wireless data download speeds of up to 21 megabits per second, access to a world class selection of compelling mobile devices and international roaming service to more than 200 countries. This initiative also ensures a smoother transition to fourth generation (4G) wireless technology known as long term evolution (LTE).
