It’s time for another installment of Palm Discovery’s wReview Wednesday!
Social networking has dramatically transformed how we interact with our friends, family, in a much greater scale than email and in almost the same scope as what Youtube did for media. Ask any of your family members or friends whether they have a Twitter or Facebook account and chances are, they have at least one account. However, unless you’re at your computer all day, chance are, you aren’t likely keeping up with what your friends are doing. But wait! Here’s a solution that will allow you to connect with your friends on Facebook, Twitter, Statusnet and many others, all at once! Yes! Forget about having to run a Twitter client, a Facebook client and others. Gravity will connect to all your social networking sites all at once, and it also supports multiple accounts! So, if you have several accounts at Twitter, Facebook and elsewhere, you can fire up Gravity and have it connect to them all, all within Gravity! Yes! I was shocked when I first found out about Gravity too and ended up paying for the program only based on recommendations from my friends. And, I have NEVER bought an app without trying it first. This was the first one and it certainly didn’t disappoint. That was several years ago and Gravity continues to keep adding new and more features. Talk about a dedicated developer! Read on for more information on this amazing app!

Multiple sites supported (Facebook, Twitter, etc)
One of the few social networking clients (that I know of) that supports multiple social networking accounts and allows simultaneous updating of all accounts. I really like being able to access all my social networking sites from within Gravity and be able to view and update them when I want.
Multiple social networking accounts supported
Again, Gravity is one of the few clients (that I know of) that will support multiple accounts. I have two Twitter accounts and Gravity will allow me to update from those right within the app. I love that.
Quick and easy version update from within app
When I need to update to the newest version update for the app, I can easily do it from within the app. Simply go into the update area and it will download and install automatically.
Customizable notifications and updates
The program will allow customized notification for each account. You can set specific times for when it will update and refresh new tweets, statuses, etc as well as check for new friends, replies, etc.
Reply, Forward, Retweet, etc supported
From within each tweet in Twitter, or status update in Facebook, you can easily reply, forward, retweet (in Twitter), Like (in Facebook), etc, you can do a variety of supported tasks. So, you may not be restricted to doing only a few things due to the restriction of the app. As far as your friends are concerned (and we won’t tell them), you are practically at your computer and not accessing from your smartphone.
Threads and conversations supported
Gravity will allow you to view conversations in Facebook and threaded replies in Twitter, something that you normally can’t do within other clients. This allows you full access to threaded conversations so that you know what was said by everyone in the conversation. Now, if only Twitter offered that!
Quick and easy post to twitpic, Posterous, etc
One of the features I really enjoy is the quick and easy access to pictures on my smartphone. I can easily post a picture I took on my Nokia E71 to twitpic, Posterous, or other imaging services and update that in my tweet. That’s another great feature I love about Gravity.
Open urls from any tweet
Any urls found in a tweet (Twitter) or status update (Facebook) can be opened from that tweet or update. No more needing to copy the url to the clipboard, open up your browser and paste that and then open up the page. Gravity truly knows how much we appreciate this feature.
Trial version available (trial previously not available)
Unlike previously, when a trial version wasn’t available, Gravity is now available on a 10 day trial. You can try out the program yourself to make you totally love it and can’t socialize without it. Although I bought the program without trying it out first and basing it solely on friends’ recommendations, I am very satisfied and happy with Gravity. It is THE app I can’t do without.
Visuals and layout could be improved
Seriously, most of you know how I feel about graphics and visuals. So, the only thing I can think about that I can say negatively about Gravity is that the program could be improved up by having better visuals. I personally don’t have any issues with its looks but I think that some people may find its looks unappealing.
I fail to find anything wrong with the app at all, really.
Gravity is an amazing app for your Symbian S60 device as it allows you to connect to all your social networking sites and to muliple accounts on those sites simulataneously. No more having to run different apps for different platforms. Gravity will do it for you, plus a lot of features that others don’t have. You can re-tweet, forward and add to lists, plus search for the latest trends on Twitter. As you may have found out in my screenshots, this program offers a lot! In my view, it is well worth the money I paid for it and if you remember, I bought it earlier on when it wasn’t offered with a trial version. It has become my favorite app on my Nokia E71 and I’m sure you’ll feel the same about it too.
