For those of us who are bored either at home or at work, counting change, especially for those of us who deal with money either as a cashier, teller or others, here’s an interesting game for you to play that is associated with the coins you deal with on a daily basis. Cash Cow, is a simple puzzle game that uses the idea of cash and coins with the animated background of a farm. The idea is very simple. You have a target amount to start with that you’re expected to achieve. There’s a timer or gauge at the left hand side of the screen, a board layout of coins ranging from a penny, nickel, dime and quarters (coins you’d likely find in your change) and your objective is to pick out the various denominations ranging from 5 cents (5 pennies), 10 cents (any combination of coins), 25 cents and a dollar. With each selection of coins that you successfully picked, the amount that you’ve collected is updated and reflects the amount still needed to achieve the target. If you fail to achieve the targeted amount by the time expiry, the game is over.

Save the farm in the upgraded and expanded iPhone and iPod touch version of the PC hit.
Help Buck the Cow and his friends save the farm in this original coin-counting game. The objective is simple: Earn money by counting up your loose change. Small coins make big coins, and big coins make dollar bills. Things get trickier when counterfeit money, ladybugs, gold nuggets, glowing coins, and power ups are thrown into the fun, financial mix. With its unique challenges, fantastic graphics and catchy soundtrack, Cash Cow makes your loose change add up to loads of fun!

- cute characters
- good sound, music and graphics
- interesting game design
- bonus game is somewhat more fun with use of accelerometer
- several modes to choose from
- game may seem boring very quickly
- may be a bit pricey for the game
- long, winded story telling can’t be dismissed
Cute characters in the game
I like the idea of a game based on farm. The characters are interesting and cute. However, a game’s playability is not based solely on the ‘cute’ factor.
Good sound, music and graphics
Upon launching the program, you will quickly hear the background music and sounds which I find is interesting and cute. The graphics of the game is good and the characters are sharp and well defined.
Interesting game design
I do find that the game design is something to commend on. I like the idea of using change to come up with a puzzle game. It’s an interesting concept and twist.
Launch Crystal to play with others near you
You can launch Crystal which will determine your location and allow you to play with others nearby. You can sign up and then challenge your friends and compare scores, etc.
Bonus mode is somewhat more fun with use of accelerometer
Surprisingly enough, I find that the bonus mode is actually more fun than the actual arcade version of the game itself. You simply tilt your iPhone to navigate the coins around the screen and drop into a bucket.
Several modes to choose from
There are two main game modes to choose from: Arcade (timed) and Relaxed (untimed) and several quick play modes: Endless, Practice and Bonus. However, as much as it seems to offer many different modes of play, after a while, it doesn’t seem enough in my opinion.
Game can get boring after a while
Even after playing the first round, I was struggling to continue to the next round. I don’t think I am the only one as I failed to find anything exciting in the design of the game to persuade me to play further. If I am bored after playing one round of this game, I don’t need to continue to confirm this feeling.
Pricey for the game
In my opinion (and I know many will disagree with me), I feel that even at 99 cents, which is at 67% discount, the game may be a bit pricey for the game play. Keep in mind that I am basing the price of the game on the game play and what I feel is worth the 99 cents.
Long and winded story telling screens
One of my biggest complaints about this game is that there is no way to dismiss the story telling screens. If I have read and encountered it before, I would like to be able to tap on the screen to dismiss it rather than wait the time for it to finish. I find it very annoying to have to deal with.
Cash Cow is an interesting take on a puzzle game with the use of coins and change with the background of a farm. Although the graphics, sound and music are pretty good, I find that the game is missing something that will persuade me to continue playing. There’s no magical bonus items that will get me through a round or anything that will making it more exciting. I think that this game may be more targeted to a younger audience than me and perhaps I’m missing the perspective of its target audience. Regardless, you can check out the game yourself. Cash Cow
